Airport Cologne-Bonn
In an international airport like Cologne-Bonn everyone has to find the way – without knowing the place and language. Therefore, symbols that are easy to understand are needed. The high utilization of the lifts requires components that are durable and offer protection against vandalism.
The vandal-proof panels with airport symbols on the face plate, specially designed by KRONENBERG for this project, meet all these requirements.
KVB
The existing rail network of the Stadtbahn in Cologne is continuously being expanded. The new construction of the KVB-Nord-Süd-Fahrt comprised 7 underground stations with 1, 2 and 4 lifts, which were equipped with our panels according to EN81-70, landing stations and call columns.
The barrier-free accessibility for everyone and a corresponding design of the lifts was a requirement for this project. Among other things, the installation of our tactile large-size pushbuttons (XLQ) with Braille lettering and appropriately designed optical and acoustic signals ensure an easy operation and unrestricted use, even by persons with disabilities.
Due to our voice announcement DSA2, a clear perception of the announcements is guaranteed, even with loud background noises as is usual at train stations.
Brussels Metro
METRO Brussels is constantly being extended and renovated in order to cope with the high number of passengers and to offer an improved user experience.
This also includes the modernization of all lifts. More than 90 installations have already been equipped with our panels, landing stations, call columns and projecting operating panels designed for high demands and many users.
Furthermore, the operation had to be easy and accessible to everyone. Our speech units enable passengers to hear the announcements clearly.
Milano
CityLife is a residential, commercial and business district situated at short distance from the old city center of Milan, Italy. The project is designed by famous architects such as Zaha Hadid, Arata Isozaki and Daniel Libeskind after which the three towers are named.
Due to the special requirements of this renowned project fire resistant doors of special sizes with reliable KRONENBERG door locks and contacts of increased level of protection were installed.
Beach Street Project
Even a spectacular view can be improved by the right accessibility and architecture of this house, overlooking a harbour beach in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
The mission was to transform a 1950s property into a new home to permanently accommodate the client’s parents.
Incorporating the IGV Lift Domus Advantage into the architectural design meant that the customer could make the house sustainable and safer for everyone – not least with the reliable KRONENBERG DLF1/7 door interlocks installed.
Burj Khalifa Dubai
With this project we have reached higher levels than ever before. The lift in the highest building of the world is exposed to special environmental conditions. The components installed need to permanently withstand high temperatures.
The rack and pinion elevator PEGA runs at a height of 600 to 650m and is the world highest placed elevator.
Ro-Ro ferry „Zadar“
Jadrolinija is Croatia’s largest liner shipping company for the maritime transport of passengers and vehicles with a hundred year long tradition.
For the modernization of the lifts KRONENBERG door interlocks with level of protection IP54 and emergency release by bowden cable have been chosen to ensure a safe operation for the highly frequented lifts on board at any time.
Hospital Hilversum
The Tergooi Hospital is a modern hospital that responds flexibly to developments in healthcare and technology.
In close cooperation between Schindler BV and KRONENBERG, 10 lifts for the site in Hilversum (three groups of three lifts and one single lift) were fitted with painted landing stations in a harmoniously colour and state-of-the-art display panels with high graphic resolution.
Acropolis
For a special project with high demands on the safety of the components Maspero Elevatori has chosen water protected motorized door interlocks with door switches from KRONENBERG. The DLF1MO-W locks and WZA switches are installed on lifts to the Acropolis – the monument being part of the Greek cultural heritage and since 1987 also of the UNESCO world cultural heritage.
The special lift changes its inclination from 38 ° to 78 ° in its only 40-meter-long journey, and connects the Peripatos with the Erechtheum on the north side of the Acropolis in just 32 seconds. KRONENBERG is a safe companion also on difficult paths.
